Dividend Policy and Right to a Dividend

Aker ASA strives to create value for its shareholders in the form of dividend payments and increased share value over time. In February 2006, the Board of Directors in Aker stated the following dividend policy:

"Aker ASA‘s dividend policy supports the company‘s intention to maintain a solid balance sheet and liquidity reserves adequate to handle future obligaitons. The company‘s objective is to pay annual dividends of 2-4 per cent of the company‘s value-adjusted equity."

Announcement of Dividends

Aker ASA will publish the proposed dividends from the Board of Directors in connection with the publication of annual results. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is responsible for the approval of the proposed dividends. Provided that the AGM approves the proposed dividends, they will be paid to shareholders approximately two weeks after the AGM.
