Trond Brandsrud new Aker CFO (30.10.2009)

Trond Brandsrud has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Aker ASA. He begins as Aker’s CFO as soon as he completes his pre-departure service period with his current employer, and no later than 1 May 2010. Mr. Brandsrud joins Aker from a similar position with the exchange listed drilling company Seadrill ASA.

- I am very pleased to have Brandsrud join our team. His considerable oil company and oil service industry experience is a good match for our portfolio of investments. I expect him to rapidly command a central role in the development of these holdings, working alongside our investment team and myself, says Øyvind Eriksen, Aker ASA President and CEO.

Aker ASA has significant ownership interests in the oil service companies Aker Solutions and Aker Drilling and in the oil company Det norske and the latter company’s merger partner Aker Exploration. Aker’s other industrial investment portfolio companies are Aker BioMarine and Aker Clean Carbon.

Prior to joining Seadrill in 2007, Mr. Brandsrud worked for the oil company Shell for more than 20 years. At Shell, he held several key finance positions. He has also headed major offshore field development projects and held key management responsibilities for both upstream and downstream operations.
